Auditions
Theatre Guild Valdosta holds auditions for all Main Stage and Gingerbread Players Productions. Anyone is welcome to
audition. Prior stage experience is not a requirement.
Auditions are usually held on designated Sunday, Monday, and/or Tuesday evenings at the Dosta Playhouse. Please contact the director of the production if you would like to request an alternate audition time. You will find the director's contact information on the audition notice.
Be prepared to fill out an audition sheet that will ask for general information, including your stage experience and any
rehearsal conflicts you may have. You may bring a resume, but it is not required. Head shots are also not required,
unless indicated on the audition notice.
Auditions for Plays: You will read scenes from the play's script. The scenes will be provided by the director. You will
have time to read over any scenes before being called to the stage.
Auditions for Musicals: You will be asked to sing a short selection (usually 16-32 measures/bars) from a show tune-style song of your choosing. Please be sure to check the Audition Notice for any changes in selection length or musical style. If dance auditions are noted in the audition notice, please be prepared to dance by wearing something in which you can move well. Readings from the script may also be required.
Callbacks, if needed, will be announced by the director at auditions.
